COVID-19 Procedures

Wicklow Archers are constantly reviewing the COVID-19 mitigation procedures in place in the club in the interest of the health & safety of members. Considering the increasing number of Covid-19 infections and the call from State bodies for increased vigilance, please note that the following procedures apply when shooting:

Shooting Line
To maintain social distancing at the shooting line, only one Archer is to shoot per target at a time and Archers should maintain a distance of at least 1m from other Archers when on the shooting line. Please do not approach the shooting line until a position is free at a target and when waiting for a position to be free, please maintain social distancing.

Pulling Arrows
When pulling arrows, only one Archer should be at a target at any time, they should only pull their own arrows. Hand sanitizer will be under all targets, we ask that members use this before touching target faces/butts.

Field Range
For members shooting the field range, groups should be no more than 3 people (except for members of the same family). As with the target ranges, only one person on shooting peg at a time, only one person at a target at a time and everyone to pull their own arrows. Hand sanitizer will be under all targets, and we ask that members use this before touching target faces/butts.

Equipment Sharing
We recognize that Archers are always willing to help each other, and we all regularly share equipment or tools, when doing so, please use hand sanitizer, wipe down the equipment/tool etc. before loaning it and before returning it to the owner.

While the above procedures may slow down shooting and possibly result in members not shooting as many arrows as normal, this is a necessary trade off to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and it is a worthwhile trade off to keep our members healthy.

Attendance:
DO NOT attend the club if you any symptoms relating to COVID or have been in close contact with someone that has COVID. DO NOT attend the club if you or anyone you live with has received a positive test result or are waiting for the result of a test. In line with a move towards personal judgement and responsibility, we ask symptomatic individuals to not attend Dargle training or events until you have completed the period of isolation as recommended by the HSE.
