What’s Next?
The Beginners course is all about safety and basic form. Now you need to practice. Daylight permitting we are at Dargle on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. Otherwise it is St. Gerards, Bray on a Wednesday night for indoor training and Dargle on a Sunday morning (weather permitting).
So come along and meet your fellow archers and get practicing. It is a very friendly and inclusive club with members all willing to help out newcomers, as we’ve all been there! There are all levels present, from beginners like yourself to archers who represent Ireland at international level, and believe us, there are no egos allowed!
You will get plenty of advice from equipment to form, to competitions.
Speaking of equipment… You are welcome to use the club’s training/beginners bows when you start but as you get a feel for archery, you will want to purchase a bow of your own at some stage. There are some excellent archery shops in Ireland with experienced people who will guide you through the process, as well as plenty of experience within the club to advise you. We also always have members upgrading their equipment, so there is the facility to purchase secondhand equipment within the club.
